Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Cajun-Style Bayou Burgers.
Step 1
Preheat your outdoor grill to high heat.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the extra lean ground beef and chopped roasted garlic. Form the mixture into four equal balls and flatten them into patties about 3/4 inch thick.
Step 3
Season both sides of the patties with garlic pepper, lemon pepper, and Cajun seasoning.
Step 4
Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking. Place the sweet onion slices on the grill and toast them until golden brown on both sides.
Step 5
Add the beef patties to the grill, placing the toasted onions on top of each patty. Grill for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
Step 6
If desired, brush the Hawaiian rolls with a little grease and toast them on the grill until golden.
Step 7
To assemble the burgers, place each patty on a toasted roll and top with slices of American and smoked Edam cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and your choice of condiments like ketchup, Creole mustard, and creamy salad dressing.
