Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Chocolate Cherry Scones Delight.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2
In a food processor, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Pulse a few times to mix.
Step 3
Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs, about 20-25 times.
Step 4
Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and gently fold in the halved cherries and chocolate chips, ensuring they are well coated with the dry ingredients.
Step 5
In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of heavy cream, the egg, and 1 tablespoon of cherry syrup until well combined. Stir this mixture into the flour mixture until just moistened.
Step 6
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Gather it into a circle, kneading gently to incorporate any dry bits. Flatten the dough into a 9-inch round disc and cut it into 8 triangles.
Step 7
Using a bench scraper, transfer the scones to the prepared baking sheets, placing 4 scones on each sheet. Brush the tops with 1 tablespoon of heavy cream.
Step 8
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-23 minutes, or until the scones are lightly browned. Remove from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack for about 30 minutes.
Step 9
For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with a little milk in a small bowl. Transfer the glaze to a resealable plastic bag, snip off one corner, and drizzle it over the cooled scones.
