Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Decadent Chocolate Chip Brownies with Pecan Frosting.
Step 1
Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grab a 9x13-inch baking pan and grease it well to ensure your brownies come out easily after baking. Now, let’s melt some chocolate! In a saucepan over very low heat, combine one 12-ounce bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips with 2/3 cup of butter. Stir constantly until the mixture is smooth and melted, being careful not to let it scorch. Once melted, remove it from the heat and transfer it to a large mixing bowl.
Step 2
Next, it’s time to sweeten things up! Gradually beat in 1 cup of white sugar, adding a couple of tablespoons at a time. Then, crack in 4 eggs, adding them two at a time, and mix until everything is well combined. Now, gently fold in 1 cup of all-purpose flour and 1/2 teaspoon of salt until just blended. Don’t forget to add 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract for that lovely flavor!
Step 3
For a delightful crunch, fold in the remaining 12-ounce bag of chocolate chips and 1 cup of chopped pecans. Once your batter is ready, pour it into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Step 4
Bake in your preheated oven for about 35 minutes. To check if they’re done, insert a toothpick into the center; it should come out with moist crumbs, not wet batter. Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan.
Step 5
While the brownies are cooling, let’s whip up a delicious frosting! In a saucepan over low heat, mix together 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream and 1/4 cup of butter until the butter melts. Stir in the last 12-ounce bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips and keep stirring until everything is melted and combined. Pour this mixture into a mixing bowl and beat on medium speed with an electric mixer for about a minute until it’s well combined. Now, chill the frosting in the refrigerator for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally until it thickens to a creamy consistency.
Step 6
Once the frosting has chilled and thickened, beat it again with the electric mixer until it forms stiff peaks, which should take about 3 to 5 minutes. Now, it’s time to spread this luscious frosting over your cooled brownies. Cut them into squares and enjoy! These decadent chocolate chip brownies with pecan frosting are perfect for sharing or indulging all by yourself.
