Step 1
Preheat your refrigerator. Begin by spreading 1 1/2 tablespoons of butter evenly over a rimmed baking sheet, ensuring it is heavily coated.

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white sugar and light corn syrup. Microwave on high, uncovered, for 4 1/2 minutes. Stir the mixture and then microwave for an additional 3 minutes.
