Step 1
Start by melting 1/2 tablespoon of butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, add the diced peaches, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt. Stir everything together and let it cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture becomes syrupy. Once done, remove it from the heat and set it aside to cool.
Step 2
Preheat your oven to 425ยฐF (220ยฐC) and grease a 10x6-inch baking dish to prepare for the crust.

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour with 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Next, take the unsalted butter and mash it into the flour mixture until it resembles small pea-sized lumps. Blend in 2 tablespoons of sour cream until you achieve a dough-like consistency. Pat this dough into the bottom and up the sides of your prepared baking dish.
Step 4
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until it turns golden brown and crusty.

Once the crust is ready, spread the peach mixture evenly over it, creating a luscious layer of fruit.
