Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Delicious Smash Cake.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 6 1/2-inch cake pan and a 4 1/2-inch cake pan.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, combine the cake flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Step 3
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and white sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Step 4
Gradually add half of the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Then, pour in half of the milk and mix again. Repeat this process with the remaining flour and milk until the batter is smooth and well combined.
Step 5
Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The smaller cake will take about 20 to 25 minutes, while the larger cake will take 35 to 40 minutes. Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack for about 1 hour.
Step 7
While the cakes are cooling, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and pour the multicolored sprinkles onto it.
Step 8
Once the cakes are cool, spread frosting on the sides of the larger cake and roll it in the sprinkles to coat. Place it on a serving platter and spread frosting on top.
Step 9
Frost the sides of the smaller cake, roll it in sprinkles, and carefully place it on top of the larger cake. Finish by frosting the top and decorating with additional sprinkles.
