Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Delicious Sticky Buns.
Step 1
Start by dissolving the quick-rising yeast in lukewarm water in a large mixing bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy. This is the magic moment when the yeast wakes up!
Step 2
Next, stir in the sifted all-purpose flour, beaten eggs, warm milk, 1/2 cup of white sugar, melted butter, and salt into the yeast mixture. Mix until you have a moist and sticky dough that feels just right.
Step 3
Once your dough is ready, transfer it to a greased bowl and cover it with a damp towel. Place it in a warm spot and let it rise until it doubles in size, which should take about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours. You’ll know it’s ready when you poke it with a finger and the indentation stays!
Step 4
While the dough is rising, prepare the delicious topping. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, 1/2 cup of melted butter, honey, and corn syrup. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves completely. Pour this luscious mixture into the bottom of two non-stick 9x13-inch baking dishes. Sprinkle 1 cup of raisins and walnuts evenly over the topping.
Step 5
Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release the air. Roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Brush the surface with 1/4 cup of melted butter, then mix 3/4 cup of white sugar with cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle it generously over the buttered dough. Add another cup of raisins on top for that extra sweetness!
Step 6
Now, roll the dough tightly into a cylinder and slice it into 3/4-inch pieces. Arrange these delightful rolls in the prepared baking dishes. Cover them again and let them rest for 20 minutes, or if you prefer, you can refrigerate them overnight for a more developed flavor.
Step 7
When you’re ready to bake, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for about 25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and no longer doughy in the center. The aroma will be irresistible!
Step 8
As soon as they come out of the oven, flip the sticky buns onto a serving platter, allowing the gooey topping to cascade over them. Serve warm and watch them disappear!
How to Serve
These sticky buns are best served warm, drizzled with extra caramel sauce if desired. Pair them with a hot cup of coffee or tea for a delightful breakfast or snack!
How to Store
Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, refrigerate them for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
