Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Double Decker Tacos.
Step 1
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is fully browned, about 7 to 10 minutes. Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
Step 2
While the beef is cooking, combine the taco seasoning mix with water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 3
Stir the taco seasoning mixture into the cooked ground beef and onion. Allow it to simmer on medium-low heat while you prepare the other ingredients.
Step 4
In a separate small saucepan, combine the refried beans and cubed processed cheese food. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring until the cheese is completely melted into the beans, about 10 minutes.
Step 5
Spread the refried bean and cheese mixture evenly over one side of each warmed flour tortilla.
Step 6
Wrap the tortillas around the warmed crisp taco shells, using the bean mixture to help stick them together.
Step 7
Spoon the seasoned ground beef mixture into the taco shells, filling them generously.
