Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Homemade Cinnamon Rolls Made Easy.
Step 1
In a microwave-safe container, heat the milk and 1/3 cup of butter on high for 30 seconds. Stir and repeat until the mixture reaches 120 to 130 degrees F (49 to 54 degrees C). If it's too cool, microwave for an additional 15 seconds; if too hot, let it cool to the proper temperature.
Step 2
In a small bowl, whisk the eggs lightly. Gradually add a small amount of the warm milk mixture to temper the eggs, mixing until well combined. Pour this mixture into the bowl of an electric stand mixer.
Step 3
In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add this dry mixture to the milk mixture and beat on low speed with a dough hook, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Step 4
Slowly add the remaining flour, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl. Continue kneading on low speed for 7 to 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and slightly sticky, with the bottom still stuck to the bowl.
Step 5
Drizzle vegetable oil over the dough and turn to coat. Cover the bowl and let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
Step 6
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a small rectangle. Roll the dough out into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.
Step 7
In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together. Spread 1/3 cup of softened butter over the dough and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top. Roll the dough into a log and cut it into 12 equal pieces.
Step 8
Place the rolls cut-side down in a greased 9x13-inch pan, leaving them almost touching. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let them rise until doubled in size, about 30 to 40 minutes.
Step 9
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Step 10
Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and immediately turn them out onto a tray or plate to cool, allowing the filling to drip back into the rolls as they cool.
