Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Bacon Cheeseburgers with Egg in a Hole.
Step 1
In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and Thousand Island dressing. Set the spread aside for later use.
Step 2
In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until it becomes crispy, about 8 to 10 minutes. Once cooked, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
Step 3
Shape the ground chuck into three equal patties. Use a small glass to cut out the center of each patty, creating a donut shape. Combine the leftover meat to form a fourth donut-shaped burger. Season all patties generously with kosher salt and ground black pepper.
Step 4
Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and let it melt. Place the burger patties in the skillet and cook for 2 minutes on each side. Crack an egg into the center of each burger, cover the skillet, and cook until the egg whites are set, about 4 to 5 minutes.
Step 5
Spread the mayonnaise and Thousand Island mixture on the bottom halves of the toasted hamburger buns. Assemble each burger by layering with lettuce, a burger patty, two strips of bacon, a slice of cheddar cheese, and the top bun.
