Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Maple-Brown Sugar Glazed Grilled Butternut Squash.
Step 1
Preheat your outdoor grill to medium heat and lightly oil the grate to prevent sticking.
Step 2
In a large pot, bring water to a boil over high heat. Add the cubed butternut squash and boil for 5 to 8 minutes, or until it is almost tender but still firm.
Step 3
While the squash is boiling, melt the butter in a skillet over low heat. Stir in the maple syrup and brown sugar, cooking until the sugar has completely dissolved, about 5 minutes.
Step 4
Once the squash is semi-cooked, drain it and place it on a large sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Brush the squash with some of the maple glaze, reserving the remaining glaze for later.
Step 5
Fold the foil to create a sealed packet around the squash. Place the packet on the preheated grill and cook for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the squash is tender. Be sure to brush the squash with the remaining glaze occasionally and flip the packet halfway through cooking.
