Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Healthier Cinnabon-Style Rolls.
Step 1
Start by pouring the warm milk into the pan of your bread machine, ensuring it's at the perfect temperature of 110°F (45°C). Add in the room temperature eggs and melted margarine, followed by the bread flour, white sugar, and yeast. Close the lid and select the dough cycle, then press Start. This is where the magic begins!
Step 2
Once the dough has doubled in size, gently turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon to create a sweet, aromatic filling.
Step 3
Now, roll the dough into a large rectangle, about 16x21 inches. Spread the softened butter evenly over the surface, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture generously on top. Roll the dough up tightly, starting from one of the long edges, and slice it into 12 equal rolls. Place these delightful rolls in a lightly greased 9x13-inch baking pan, cover them, and let them rise until nearly doubled, which should take about 30 minutes.
Step 4
While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This will ensure they bake to golden perfection!
Step 5
Once the rolls have risen beautifully, pop them into the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and your kitchen is filled with the irresistible aroma of cinnamon.
Step 6
While the rolls are baking, prepare the creamy frosting. In a small bowl, beat together the softened Neufchatel cheese, 1/4 cup of softened butter, confectioners' sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. This frosting is the cherry on top of your delicious creation!
Step 7
As soon as the rolls come out of the oven, spread the frosting generously over the warm rolls. The heat will melt the frosting slightly, creating a luscious glaze that will make your mouth water. Serve these delightful rolls warm and enjoy every gooey bite!
