Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Garlic Knots from Scratch.
Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant potato flakes, dry milk powder, sugar, instant yeast, salt, and garlic powder. Mix well.
Step 2
Gradually stir in the warm water and olive oil until the dough begins to come together.
Step 3
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic. Add more water or flour as needed to achieve the right consistency.
Step 4
Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until it has doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.
Step 5
Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 16 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope that is 8 to 10 inches long, then tie each rope into a knot, tucking the ends underneath.
Step 6
Arrange the knots on greased baking sheets, cover them, and let them rise until puffy, about 30 to 45 minutes.
Step 7
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, dried parsley, and Italian seasoning. Set aside.
Step 8
Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Brush the knots with the garlic butter mixture before baking.
Step 9
Bake the knots in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes, or until they are golden brown. If desired, brush with any remaining garlic butter mixture after removing from the oven.
