Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Jalapeno Popper Quesadilla.
Step 1
Start by preheating your oven's broiler and adjusting the oven rack so it's about 6 inches from the heat source.
Step 2
To make cleanup a breeze, line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
Step 3
Next, take your fresh jalapeno peppers and place them cut-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 4
Pop them under the broiler and keep an eye on them as they roast; you want the skins to bubble and blacken, which should take around 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 5
Once they’re beautifully charred, transfer the peppers to a resealable plastic bag, seal it up, and let them steam for about 20 minutes.
Step 6
This steaming process will help loosen the skins, making them easier to peel.
Step 7
After the time is up, carefully open the bag, remove the skins from the peppers, and chop the peppers into small, flavorful pieces.
Step 8
Now, let’s get to the tortillas! Spread half of the softened butter on one side of each tortilla, and on the other side, slather on half of the cream cheese.
Step 9
Sprinkle half of your chopped jalapeno peppers, half of the shredded Mexican cheese blend, and half of the crushed tortilla chips over the cream cheese side of each tortilla.
Step 10
Fold each tortilla in half, making sure the buttered side is facing out.
Step 11
Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and cook one quesadilla at a time until it’s golden brown and crispy, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
Step 12
Once you’ve cooked both quesadillas to perfection, you’re ready to enjoy a deliciously cheesy and spicy treat that’s sure to impress!.
