Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Old Bay® Shrimp Cakes.
Step 1
Start by preheating your oven's broiler to low, making sure to position the rack about 6 inches from the heat source for optimal cooking.
Step 2
While the oven warms up, grab your food processor and pulse the cooked shrimp until they’re nicely shredded, but be careful not to turn them into a puree.
Step 3
Once you have the perfect texture, transfer the shredded shrimp into a large mixing bowl.
Step 4
Now, it’s time to add some flavor! Toss in the dry bread crumbs, diced red and green bell peppers, seafood seasoning, parsley flakes, salt, black pepper, onion salt, Italian seasoning, and dry mustard.
Step 5
Mix everything together until it’s well combined, and you can already start to smell the deliciousness.
Step 6
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the egg, chipotle mayonnaise, and a splash of hot sauce for that extra kick.
Step 7
Pour this zesty mixture into the shrimp blend and stir until everything is fully incorporated.
Step 8
Now comes the fun part—shape the mixture into five patties and place them on a baking sheet, ready for their moment in the spotlight.
Step 9
Slide the baking sheet under the preheated broiler and let the patties cook for about 5 minutes.
Step 10
After that, switch the broiler to high and keep an eye on them as they brown beautifully on top, which should take another 5 minutes.
Step 11
Once the tops are golden and inviting, carefully flip the shrimp cakes over and broil them on high until the other sides are equally browned, which will take about 5 more minutes.
Step 12
Your kitchen will soon be filled with an irresistible aroma, and you’ll be ready to enjoy these delightful shrimp cakes!.
