Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Peanut Butter Snickerdoodle Cookies.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, 1 cup of white sugar, brown sugar, unsalted butter, and shortening. Use an electric mixer to beat the mixture until it becomes creamy and well combined.
Step 3
Add the vanilla extract and mix until incorporated. Then, beat in the eggs one at a time until fully blended.
Step 4
In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cream of tartar, 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Step 5
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing well until a dough forms.
Step 6
In a shallow bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of white sugar and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon for rolling the cookies.
Step 7
Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place the coated balls on a baking sheet, leaving space between them.
Step 8
Flatten each ball slightly using the bottom of a drinking glass or by pressing down with a fork to create a criss-cross pattern.
Step 9
Bake in the preheated oven for about 8 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned. Be careful not to overbake!
Step 10
Once baked, transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
