Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Basil and Prosciutto Pizza.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
Step 2
In a large skillet, cook the chopped prosciutto over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until it becomes crispy, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 3
Lightly oil a pizza pan, baking sheet, or baking stone. Roll out the refrigerated pizza crust onto the pan, spreading it to the edges without tearing the dough.
Step 4
In a small bowl, mix together the tomato paste, water, dried oregano, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Spread this mixture evenly over the pizza dough, reserving any leftovers for future use.
Step 5
Sprinkle the minced garlic over the sauce, followed by half of the shredded mozzarella cheese. Add the crispy prosciutto on top, then layer the remaining mozzarella cheese over everything. Finally, sprinkle the sliced basil leaves on top of the pizza.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese and crust are lightly browned. Allow the pizza to cool for 3 to 4 minutes before slicing and serving.
