Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Spiced Ginger Cookies.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease two cookie sheets.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, beat together 1 cup of sugar, butter, molasses, and the egg using an electric mixer until well combined.
Step 3
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, ground ginger, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, ground cloves, salt, and nutmeg. Gradually mix this dry mixture into the butter mixture until fully incorporated.
Step 4
In a shallow bowl, combine the remaining 1/8 cup of sugar with 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.
Step 5
Roll the cookie dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in the sugar-cinnamon mixture to coat.
Step 6
Place the coated cookie balls on the prepared cookie sheets, spacing them apart.
Step 7
Bake in the preheated oven for about 11 minutes, or until the cookies are golden and the edges are set. Allow them to cool on the sheets for at least 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
