Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Spiced Gingerbread Scones.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, white sugar, baking powder, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves. Mix well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
Step 3
Cut the cold butter into the flour mixture using a fork or pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 4
Pour in the skim milk and fancy molasses, stirring until the dry ingredients are fully absorbed and a dough forms.
Step 5
Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet and shape it into a round disk about 3/4-inch thick and 8 inches in diameter.
Step 6
Sprinkle the raw sugar over the top of the dough, then cut it into 8 wedges without separating them.
Step 7
Bake in the preheated oven for 17 to 20 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
