Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make St. Patrick's Day Chocolate Mint Trifle.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch square baking dish.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the brownie mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Stir until the mixture is well blended.
Step 3
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 28 to 31 minutes, or until the top is dry and the edges start to pull away from the sides. Remove from the oven and let cool completely, about 1 hour.
Step 4
In another large bowl, pour in the cold milk and whisk in the instant vanilla pudding mix. Add the broken creme de menthe candies and about 3 drops of green food coloring, mixing until the desired shade is achieved. Allow the mixture to set for 5 minutes.
Step 5
In a trifle bowl, crumble half of the cooled brownies at the bottom. Layer half of the green vanilla pudding mixture on top, followed by half of the whipped topping. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
Step 6
In a small bowl, combine the white sugar with about 3 drops of green food coloring, stirring until evenly colored. Place a shamrock template on top of the trifle and sprinkle the green sugar over the template. Carefully remove the template to reveal the shamrock shape.
Step 7
Cover the trifle and chill in the refrigerator for about 3 hours before serving.
