Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls.
Step 1
In a small bowl, combine the warm water and yeast. Stir until dissolved and let it sit for about 10 minutes until bubbly.
Step 2
In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the cubed butter, sugar, and salt. Add the hot water and whisk until the butter melts. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then mix in the egg.
Step 3
Add the yeast mixture to the bowl, followed by 2 cups of flour. Mix on high speed with the whisk attachment until well combined.
Step 4
Switch to the dough hook attachment and gradually add the remaining flour. Mix until a smooth ball of dough forms.
Step 5
Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Step 6
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Step 7
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
Step 8
In a small bowl, mix melted butter and strawberry jam for the filling. Spread this mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough, then sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
Step 9
Roll the dough tightly and pinch the edges to seal. Cut the rolled dough into 12 equal pieces and place them on a cookie sheet.
Step 10
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown and firm to the touch.
Step 11
While the rolls are baking, prepare the frosting by beating together softened butter, milk, strawberry jam, and vanilla extract until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar until smooth.
Step 12
Once the rolls are out of the oven, brush the warm cinnamon rolls with the frosting using a pastry brush.
