Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Sweetheart Cupcake Delights.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a standard muffin tin with paper cupcake liners.
Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and egg whites. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase to medium speed and mix for 2 minutes until the batter is smooth.
Step 3
Fill each cupcake liner about one-third full with the white batter and set aside.
Step 4
In a separate bowl, add 4 drops of red food coloring to the remaining batter to create a pink color. Stir in the raspberry candy oil. Pour one-third of this pink batter into a resealable plastic bag and set aside.
Step 5
Add more red food coloring to the remaining pink batter until you achieve a vibrant orange/red color. Pour this batter into another resealable plastic bag. Cut a corner off the bag and carefully squeeze about two tablespoons of this red batter into the center of each white batter-filled cupcake liner.
Step 6
Next, cut the corner off the bag containing the pink batter. Insert the tip into the center of the red batter in each liner and squeeze about 1 tablespoon of pink batter on top.
Step 7
Bake the cupcakes in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow them to cool completely before frosting.
