Step 1
In a medium bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer until creamy, about 1 minute. Gradually add the white sugar and continue to beat until well blended.

Add the egg yolks one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the dried blueberries, lemon zest, and vanilla extract. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and beat for an additional minute.

Reduce the mixer speed to low and gradually add the flour mixture, mixing just until a smooth dough forms.

Divide the dough in half and shape each portion into logs about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and 10 inches long. Wrap the logs in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours or up to 3 days. You can also freeze the dough at this stage for later use.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and position an oven rack in the center.

Unwrap one dough log and slice it into 1/4-inch thick rounds. Place the rounds on an ungreased cookie sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

Bake in the preheated oven until the edges start to turn golden, about 9 to 11 minutes. Remove from the oven and transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely, about 15 to 30 minutes. Once cooled, dust with confectioners' sugar as desired. Repeat the baking process with the remaining dough.
