Cooking Instructions
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to make Cranberry Orange Turkey Salad.
Step 1
Start by preheating your oven to 325ยฐF (165ยฐC). Grab a baking pan and line it with aluminum foil for easy cleanup later. This little step makes a big difference!
Step 2
In a saucepan, combine the whole cranberries, fresh orange juice, orange zest, and white sugar. Bring this mixture to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally. Let it cook until most of the liquid has evaporated, which should take about 5 minutes. Once done, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool. The aroma will be heavenly!
Step 3
Next, spread the cashew halves on the prepared baking pan. Roast them in the preheated oven for about 10 to 12 minutes, or until they turn a lovely golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning! Once roasted, let them cool.
Step 4
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped cooked turkey and diced celery. Add in the mayonnaise, applesauce, kosher salt, ground sage, dried thyme, and ground black pepper. Mix everything together until well blended. This is where the magic happens!
Step 5
Gently fold in the cooled cranberry mixture, ensuring it's evenly distributed throughout the salad. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. This allows all the flavors to meld beautifully, making each bite a burst of fall goodness!
